It’s been a while since I last posted. partly due to being busy and not helped by having to use the onscreen keyboard. A new keyboard is on its way and hopefully I will get back into the swing of things.
Doctor Who is half way through its 8th season (since the relaunch) and the Radio Times has welcomed in the new Doctor with a series of posters designed by Stuart Manning.
Opening episode ‘Deep Breath’ is set in 19th century London which is a perfect excuses to fit in some Victorian era steam work cogs.
Stuart creates all the posters in retro style with influences from the original series. The cogs in this poster are not only a reference to the Doctor’s first adversary but have a resemblance to the Gallifreyan writing system.
Doctor Who itself is art with its underlying messages and plots interwoven through multiple seasons. I’m excited to see what the rest of the season brings and the posters that accompany it.
