Gregory Barsamian

Gregory Barsamian creates moving 3D sculptures animated using a strobe light using a technique he likens to a flick-book. In ‘Die Falle’ a sleeping man’s concienceness takes a journey in the form of a square wheel and then, like a bad dream, ends in a mouse trap made up as a bed.

The clever use of vertical space gives Barsamian more time to work with as the story lasts six revolutions instead of just one.

Artefact, one of Gregory’s more colourful pieces, is housed inside a giant head and so gives the impression that the viewer is in fact looking into the giant beings thoughts.

There’s plenty of similar sculptures on Barsamian’s webpage.
