Abby Diamond

Abby Diamond of Pennsylvania documents her art through her blog ‘Ink, paint and feathers.’.

Flicking through her blog you will come across a number of these beautiful bird illustrations. I love how natural they seem, forgoing the want for detail but still preserving it’s verity.

Looking at the coloured shapes within the beetle there is somehow a magical contrast between 2 and 3 dimensions.

Perhaps the only work on Abby’s blog not of any animal (yet still living perhaps). Three colours; orange, yellow and purple perfectly chosen and blended to give the tree real character and a flowing story from its roots through to the highest branches.

In a departure from ink and paint Abby created the wonderful two creatures above using a method she calls ‘digital scratch-board’.

And how could I resist including this magnificent Jedi master, haha.
